BIO

Oremuz was formed on May 4, 2004 by Rams Aquino, Ronnel Lanuza and Debi Mendez. The name was derived from the latin word "Oremus" which means "Let Us Pray". Rams and Ronell focused on conceptualizing and song writing until Ronell later decided to leave the band and pursue his personal plans. Then Russel Jean Gabitanan joined the band to play bass and her sister Shekaina Gabitanan to do the vocals. Mico Lirio on drums and Bong Vasquez on keyboards. From year 2005-2007, "Oremus" played in all events in the local underground scene. Shekaina Gabitanan left the band to pursue her studies and was replaced by Jam Caraig. On 2007, they changed the name "Oremus" to "Oremuz" and within the same year, Oremuz won as 2nd Placer in the World Battle of the Bands Philippines Division. The song "Melody of Sanctimony" is the band's song entry and aired in NU107 for the competition. There's a lot of changes in the line-up of members and this time Shekaina Gabitanan joined again replacing Jam Caraig (a nurse student and need to finish her studies too) Pong Katigbak joined as keyboard player, Sensi Garcia on soprano vocals , Lovel Ajok on guitar and Abs Encina on drums. The band performed on numerous big local events like Pulp Summer Slam, Rakrakan Festival, Urge Tour, Save the Earth and many more. Local provincial tours in Cebu, Ilo-ilo, Bacolod , Olangapo and Quezon helped the band to spread their music. They released their first full length album "Melody Of Sanctimony" under Crisella Records (Mingi Music Ltd. ) on 2011. As of now, 2021 the current band's line -up, Trish Cromwell (previously member of the band "Even") on Vocals, Sensi Garcia on soprano vocals, Rams Aquino & Choi Gonzales on guitars, Russel Jean Gabitanan on bass, Pong Katigbak on keyboards and John Raphael Gonzales on drums. Project Chaos (clothing company) collaborated with Oremuz for "Oremuz Shirt" and still available. "Voyage to the Void" a new album which defines the current perspective of the band's psyche is soon to be released independently under Oremuz themselves. "Freedom" and "18 Days" music video's production is on going and might be released as well this year.
